This roughly equates to a loss of 12% and 22% respectively. Overall 87.4% of the House incumbents will be reelected Nov 2nd. That means for the first time in electoral history that I can find, the rehire rate for the House of Representatives will be less than 90%. Most years its in the 90-96% range (very rarely does it even get close to 90% much less below it).  The last time we had such a drastic turnover was 1992 at 88%. I know some may be thinking that 1994 (The supposed or unfulfilled "Contract with America") where Republicans swept the house for the first time in 60 years had to have been larger than this coming election (if my predictions prove accurate), but truly the turnover for 1994 was only a 90%. The last time we actually had a larger turnover (again against my prediction) was 1970 when 85% of the House was reelected. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's still a little lower than what is required for the TMRHG. I think a lot a people would like to see better than 90%....fired that is....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What is TMRHG you ask? I felt there was little left unsaid, and honestly I had better things to do with my time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However I couldn't let this one slip.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Roger Clemens has just been brought up on charges for basically &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;lieing&lt;/span&gt; to the U.S. Congress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Lieing&lt;/span&gt; to Congress...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bill Clinton lied to congress...&lt;br /&gt;Congress Critters lie on their tax forms...&lt;br /&gt;Republicans promised term limits...&lt;br /&gt;Both of them promised fiscal responsibility...&lt;br /&gt;"Most Ethical Congress in History"...&lt;br /&gt;Our troops were never in Cambodia...&lt;br /&gt;Our borders are secure...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;Gitmo&lt;/span&gt; was going to be closed down...&lt;br /&gt;The &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;health care&lt;/span&gt; bill will SAVE us money...&lt;br /&gt;"I read the bill"...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lies, lies, and more lies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They don't even follow their own rules, much less the ones they set up for us the underclass, the peasantry. I could list many, many, many more as I bet you could as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Listing the lies isn't important. So in dealing with the Arizona immigration law, I had so many to choose from. Here were some other choices.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Much ado about nothing...."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"Immigration A-Z...."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"How many Washington Idiots does it take to read a 10 page bill?..."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the end however, a quote from Mel Brooks classic "Blazing Saddles" is hard to pass up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The quote comes from the part where the crooks are signing people up for a posse and some Mexican Bandito's sign up and the person signing them up is about to hand them deputy's badges and they laugh and say "We don't need no stinking badges".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Isn't that kind of what's wrong with our immigration system? I mean, if your from Africa, or Asia, or Europe, or Antarctica, or Mars....you best believe you need your papers. If you are from Mexico or points south and only speak Spanish....Asking for your papers is...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Discriminatory?!?!?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How does that work exactly?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ask Arizona. It doesn't.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We've heard from the Lecturer in Chief on how this law is dangerous and allows for law enforcement to abuse the civil rights of illegal aliens. We've heard much the same from the Attorney General, the Speaker of the House, the Senate Majority leader, the President of Mexico, the ACLU, et al.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What do all these people have in common.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They haven't read a 10 page bill.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They haven't read the case law.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They have NO IDEA what they are talking about.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is your tax dollars at work folks. After reading the bill myself, I am struck at how easy it is to understand (as compared to the Health Care debacle) this bill.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I also noticed that when compared with Federal Law, illegal immigrants actually have MORE rights under the Arizona law than the Federal law. According to a UNANIMOUS ruling by the Supreme Court in Mueller v. Mena, Federal officials do NOT need to have just cause for asking for your "papers". They don't need to have underlying cirumstances. Nope...not one.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the Arizona law, you have to be "detained" in some manner. Such as a traffic stop, accident, search warrant, etc. In this way Arizona law is much more gentle than is Federal law.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So if that is in fact the case, why are the Democrats in D.C. so dead set against this law? Keep in mind I say the Democrats in D.C. Over 80% of Democrat voters support the Arizona bill, once they are TRUTHFULLY told what is in it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They are dead set against it, because they never had any intention of ever enforcing our immigration policies and laws. Never. Ever. Ever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don't get me wrong. Very few politicians in D.C. are hot to trot on this issue. Everyone thinks pandering to illegals is the wave of the political future. They've just forgotten one thing. Oh yeah the people that already live here legally, might have a little problem with us advocating abuse of our sovreignty....oooops!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Arizona was tired of waiting for the Feds to do their job. More and more states are drafting similar legislation. More and more people are getting "Fed" up with a government that refuses to do their job. The one we pay them to do. Secure our borders. National security.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's not a Democrat thing or a Republican thing. It's a respect for our laws and our sovreignty thing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Media doesn't get it.....&lt;br /&gt;The President doesn't get it....&lt;br /&gt;The Speaker doesn't get it....&lt;br /&gt;The Attorney General doesn't get it....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;but the American people do....you know those silly people who vote and give you jobs. In this blog I said that rarely do progressives come right out and tell you what they think. Most of the time it just slips out. Like this comment.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some would say, "That was just a flub, he didn't really mean that." OH YES HE DID! He and others like him just don't want us to know about it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For those of you who don't know why this is such a big deal here is the quote from the Declaration of Independence...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain &lt;strong&gt;unalienable rights&lt;/strong&gt;, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Why is that quote so important? It's because in no other founding document in the world does the writer proclaim that citizens rights are above the rule of government. That government can NOT usurp or assail those rights. In fact the unalienable rights clause is most of the foundation amongst the early Human Rights and Civil Rights movements. It was a beacon that lit up the injustices in society and forced governments to live up to this lofty ideal. The ideal that there is a law higher than any law they could pass or enforce. A law that would cause any legislation passed, that is in contrast to those rights, to be deemed illegal. It would empower the public to DISOBEY the rule of government should those immutable laws be violated.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It was a first. Never had this happened before in history. In fact before our document, it was generally considered that the ruling power (royalty at the time) could make any law and those laws would have the power of a religious decree because of the "Divine Right of Kings". Let there be no mistake, there were precedents to our constitution and our declaration, however none of them truly approached the issue of INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS and what they are derived from.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's talk about what is a right. People are starting to use the term for everything. Right to college education, cars, phones, jobs, food, health care, vacations, TV's, computers, internet access, etc...In truth, a right is only a right if that action does not require the involvement of other individuals to provide the ingredients for that "right".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ie;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Right to free speech...Does that require any ones involvement to make that happen. Nope..you can say what you want, when you want, and it doesn't infringe upon anyone else's rights.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Right to bear arms....Does that require someone to provide you with arms? Nope...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Right to Privacy....Does that infringe on anyone else's life or liberty...Nope....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Are you getting the picture?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A right is something that you can DO without infringing upon someone else's life, liberty or pursuit of happiness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;OK...How about health care....OK you can't afford it. So who pays for it? Government? Nope...everyone around you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Food...Someone has to confiscate it from someone who grew it and owns it, to give it to you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So here's the bottom line. When we empower the government to take from one person to give to another, we empower the government to infringe upon those UNALIENABLE RIGHTS. When a person buys land and has to pay taxes it on it perpetually or risk losing the land...do they really own it? Or is it just leased from the government? If the government decides how much money you can make or when you can make it....do you really own a business? Or are you just a caretaker for the REAL boss?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some have called it social justice. Some have called it "To each according to his needs from each according to his ability." Some have called it compassion. Some have called it temporary. Some have instituted it as an emergency.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For me it doesn't matter what pretext there is to it, it only falls under one word.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THEFT...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sen. Harkin is more proof of the arrogance, the hubris of our elitist masters in Washington D.C. We have removed God from government, and in that vacuum Man has made himself god. When there is no higher power than man, man loses the ability to form a moral compass. We start to rationalize actions. Ends start to justify the means. The greater good becomes the goal, but only greater sorrow will ever result from it. We as man are incapable of ruling each other. That is why so many restrictions or "negative rights" were placed on the government. It wasn't the myopic view of antiquated Judeo-Christian values that formed our country. It was a timeless realization, formed into operational language, that man is fallible and that never should so much power be concentrated in one place that the rule of a few morons could destroy a whole nation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yet that is exactly what has happened. We've been ruled by decades of self assured idiots, who have increasingly decided that they know better than us. We're misguided. They are enlightened. They can fix everything. Just one more law. The problem is that by it's very nature a populist should respect the wisdom of the "common man". It's about truly having a point of view that comes from the common man. So where do these populists end up? In the congress the populists are populated mostly by progressives (Nice alliteration don't you think? Now say &lt;em&gt;THAT&lt;/em&gt; ten times fast!),  who by their very nature are considered "fringe". The largest groups of people in the voting public align themselves center and right. Progressives are a very small minority in the public-at-large, but make up a disproportionate percentage of our legislators, both Democrat and Republican. Over half of our legislators align themselves (or their votes align them) with the progressive agenda, the other half are split between conservatives and moderates (centrists).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what exactly is a progressive? THAT depends on who you ask. Most people that do align themselves with &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;progressives&lt;/span&gt;, do so because the word sounds nice...."I like progress, who doesn't like progress?" The problem is that the word has very little to do with the platform. See, the progressive believes that government can perfect society through laws and regulation (&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;ie&lt;/span&gt;: control). The progressive believes that only the "elite" can rule, because only they have the wisdom and insight necessary to engineer society. It sounds offensive and condescending, and it is. However you will not hear, &lt;em&gt;often&lt;/em&gt;, the progressive spout the truth of their beliefs in public, because after all the &lt;em&gt;"populace"&lt;/em&gt; is what gets them &lt;strong&gt;INTO&lt;/strong&gt; power. Once in power, promises are forgotten, spin ensues, and the water is muddied. Sound familiar? That is the hallmark of progressive governance. They wallow in murky waters, it gives them cover to do whatever it is they want to do. Then the progressive Republicans blame the Democrats, the progressive Democrats blame the Republicans, and the electorate becomes frustrated by what they &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;perceive&lt;/span&gt; as a completely corrupt system. This isn't an accident, it's by design. Read progressive ideologues such as Saul &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Elinsky&lt;/span&gt;, Woodrow Wilson, Robert Creamer, Oliver Wendel Holmes etc....You will see exactly what I am talking about.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So when you have Populism which puts it's faith in the wisdom of the common man, and &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Progressivism&lt;/span&gt; that puts faith in the elite....How can the Populist Caucus in congress be filled with progressives?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So when our Congresswoman from the 13&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;th&lt;/span&gt; Congressional District from Ohio proceeds to vote for a bill that 73% of the public (*&lt;strong&gt;note&lt;/strong&gt;* that percentage is rather populist in number is it not?), when she votes for Cap and Trade that will put hundreds of thousands of union workers on unemployment, keep in mind that those that make up the "Populist Caucus" are truly progressives. Then it will all make sense.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our legislators vote against the will of the people because they are progressives. They believe that you are just too stupid to know what is good for you. Nancy Pelosi says “We have to pass this bill to find out what’s in it.” Read between the lines it reads "Just sit down and shut up, you will get what we give you and &lt;em&gt;you'll like it&lt;/em&gt;." Here are some excerpts from a story about a show that will be debuting after the "Big Game" this Sunday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Reuters&lt;br /&gt;updated 6:59 p.m. ET, Wed., Feb. 3, 2010&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;LOS ANGELES - Larry O'Donnell may be president of a Fortune 200 company. But the Waste Management chief operating officer got fired on his first day in a humble job picking up trash when working for his own organization. A rare television series set in the real-life workplace, "Undercover Boss" hits U.S. airwaves this Sunday, Feb. 7, putting executives to work in everyday jobs in an era when many companies are cutting budgets and employees are working harder for the same pay, or less.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For O'Donnell, that meant a week of long, unsocial hours cleaning filthy portable toilets, riding a residential garbage truck and joining a fast-moving sorting line in a Waste Management recycling facility. Among his more eye-opening moments was garbage truck driver Janice, who has to urinate in a bottle on her rounds because she has no time or place for a proper bathroom break. "Actually getting out there and doing the job as a first time employee, I have a whole new appreciation of what they do each day," said O'Donnell, who adopted a beard and eyeglasses disguise to work alongside a handful of his workers. "They've got really tough jobs. They work long hours. They start their day at all hours of the morning."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;Hey, boss, you're fired!&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And then there was the basic job of picking up trash on a windy hillside. After O'Donnell saw his haul repeatedly blown away, he was told by his supervisor not to bother coming back. Experience always trumps every other factor in the real world. Who do you want doing your brain surgery? The guy who's been there and done that, or the guy who just got out of medical school?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, I ask you a question....If 90% of our elected officials in Washington D.C. are lawyers, and have never been anything but a lawyer. What do you think that kind of experience will get you? I've always said there are two people who should never run anything. Lawyers and Accountants. Unfortunately our government is run by lawyers, and corporate America by accountants. Can you imagine what a disaster it would be if accountants were the only people allowed to be a general in the military? "Colonel, you used 11% more rounds in that firefight than were necessary according to the statistics. I want you to investigate who was wasting rounds and I want a report on my desk tomorrow morning!" Absurd isn't it? Is it any less absurd having these people make decisions on Fortune 500 companies or for our Federal Government?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;TANGENT ALERT!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This reminds me of something that happened recently. I have friends that were in the process of adopting a child in Haiti. Then the quake hit, and the child's orphanage was demolished. There were many prayers and the information was achingly slow to get, but they eventually found out that while his care taker was crushed by a wall, he was alive as well as all of the other children. Haiti then decided that the best thing for the children was to expedite their release and get them out of the country. In steps the "Bureaucrat". On at least 3 separate occasions the children were either walked or otherwise transported to a point where they could be taken off the island, but were turned back BECAUSE OF PAPERWORK. This is the nature of people like lawyers and accountants. There is nothing more important, to them, than the process.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, dear friends, remember the next time you look into the eyes of an career bureaucrat/politician, more often or not, if they had a choice between proper paperwork and you....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kiss your keister goodbye!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On a positive note, all the children from the orphanage got off the island, and once landing in Florida were tearfully welcomed to our country and the loving arms of Lady Liberty....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ooops...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Left out one part....The children came in on the last flight and the government workers refused to stay behind to process.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What you may ask?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You may have guessed it....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"the paperwork"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;...and the children had to be kept over night in a holding area, and the adoptive parents couldn't even see them. The children were hungry and not fed, and the government workers didn't give a damn! They had an important TV show to watch I am sure. On a positive note, the reason why they finally were extricated from the island is because a reporter from CNN completely embarassed our federal government officials over how horribly they were botching this situation and others, and the bureaucrats  jumped into action in order to save...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;the children?...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No just their own jobs.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;God save us, we're surrounded by process zombies!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;br /&gt;TANGENT COMPLETE&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Getting back to the point of this post...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We really need to start replacing people in Corporate America and Politics with people with "real world" experience. If not, I fear there is no hope for the recovery of our country.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Message to all bosses and corporate heads out there...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Your employees need more than a paycheck. They need to know that they are appreciated. They need to know that you see how hard they work. A little thankfulness goes a long way. A paycheck does not entitle you to whip people within an inch of their life. That's what this CEO learned. When are the rest of the board rooms going to catch on?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's put the first nail in the coffin of a thankless America. Many will spin this multiple ways over the next few weeks and months, since this is considered an indication of things to come in the 2010 elections.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What truly was the reason for this unprecedented collapse of Democrat power in Massachusetts? Mass defection of life long Democrats to Republican ranks? Highly unlikely.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In my humble opinion, the main issue that caused this loss was....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Arrogance.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Conceit. Elitism. Pure unadulterated ego. The Republican went door to door, reaching out to everyone he could. The Democrat hardly campaigned. Assuming that the 3-1 ratio of Democrats to Republicans would guarantee her a victory. The Republican campaigned from city to city driving a GM truck with over 200,000 miles. The Democrat candidate made fun of this, literally belittling the opponent for his lack of financial standing. The Republican prepared for the debate. The Democrat seemed like she didn't really care about the debate. The Democrat was rude to reporters, even to the point of her volunteers physically assaulting members of the media, yelling at them for even daring to ask the candidate questions. The Democrat ran attack adds accusing the opponent of being for legislation that would turn away rape victims from hospitals, when the candidate herself was known for leniency on sexual predators.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How could this election have turned out any other way?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The people have grown weary of the sense of entitlement of our political class. Outside of the curious timing of this unprecedented communication from our representative, we are left to wonder at the complete lack of political tact, from this experienced politician. In one of the communications we are regaled with the somewhat candy coated history of the CARS (aka cash for clunkers) initiative that was spear headed by Ms. Sutton. Now I am sure that there were some positive results from the cash for clunkers program, but to announce it an unrivaled success and a model for future government programs, strains credulity. The Federal government purposely skewed the results to hide this program’s failures. During the last quarter of 2009, vehicle sales actually underperformed against market expectations, indicating that the increase in car sales only shifted the time period in which they happened, instead of actually spurring otherwise non-existent sales. According to her statement “The CARS program was about more than just cars. It was about people. It was about our neighbors who depend on auto related jobs to support their families. And it was about our communities that depend on the auto-related taxes to support their schools, police, fire and city services.” They say that the road to perdition is paved with good intentions, and unfortunately this proved true. Out of the top ten vehicles traded in for this program, all ten were made by American auto manufacturers GM, Chrysler, and Ford. Of the top ten purchased vehicles under this program as reported by the federal government, all but two of them were made by foreign owned manufacturers. This had chilling effect in the used car market, by the “unintended consequence” of depressing the supply of used vehicles, thus inflating the price of used vehicles, which has disproportionately affected the poor in our society. Over 600,000 UAW made vehicles were taken off the road, creating a severely depressed need for parts, which will create even further job loss. Edmunds.com, estimates that we paid nearly $24,000 in tax payer funds per vehicle once factoring in expected sales vs. addition sales attributed to CARS. We have also encouraged people to increase their debt levels during one of the most unstable financial periods in our history, further endangering their credit ratings and our financial institutions. We also stand to lose over 1,000 jobs at the Twinsburg Stamping plant, which while outside the 13th Congressional District, employs many members of UAW local 122 that live in her district. Legislators proclaimed that Chrysler duped them into believing that no plants would be closed and that they were as mad as the union at the contract violation. What wasn’t said is that this decision could not have been made without the express permission of the oversight committee assigned by the current administration to oversee the operations and sale of GM and Chrysler. At the very least, we could have halted this action permanently due to the generous bailouts that we, the taxpayers, have provided the trouble car manufacturers. Never mind that this smacks of partisan politics since the stamping plant resides in a district currently held by a Republican representative. Would our representative have fought any harder to save those jobs, if Twinsburg were in her district?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now for the insensitivity….&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The distinguished Congresswoman from District 13 is no doubt aware of the fact that the two communications, paid for by the tax payer, are completely legal. Being a lawyer, she no doubt knew exactly how to issue what amounts to campaign communication, in such a way as to be perfectly within the letter, if not the spirit, of the regulations surrounding the franking privilege. I wonder if our political elite in Washington D.C. fully appreciate the anger and the frustration they create, when they use taxpayer funds to further ensconce their posteriors in Congress. High unemployment, higher taxation, expanding foreclosures, empty plants, vacant store fronts, and anemic bank accounts are now the nightmarish reality of our daily lives. Now she is touting her appointment to the Congressional Task Force on Job Creation. What recommends her for such a position? Has she any experience working in a plant, a union, running a business, balancing a checkbook, making payroll, juggling bills, meeting a budget (now there’s a laugh), fending off unemployment, being laid off, bankruptcy, or fear of creditor’s calls? I wouldn’t count on it. So maybe we can look into her experience as a legislator. According to Recovery.org, Sutton has obtained over $153 million in funds, from the stimulus package, for her district, saving or creating 149.5 jobs, at an average cost of $1.26 million per job. I know you’re thinking “Where do I get one of those jobs?”, but no one is getting paid 1.26 million to fill in potholes and refurbish public restrooms. Even accounting for the overhead of these “jobs”, what we are seeing is a fiction created in order to blind us to their complete failure to live up to their oaths, their promises, and their rhetoric. I remain at a loss to find anything that gives me any hope that she has any idea what she is doing, seeing as she is seemingly unaware of her current failures. Congresswoman Sutton proclaimed that “Not until we end the culture of corruption can we tend to the people’s business. Washington’s failure to create good jobs is a failure borne out of corruption…”&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Root out corruption? It’s &lt;em&gt;worse&lt;/em&gt;. Reign in the irresponsibly corrupt spending of the previous administration? You’ve &lt;em&gt;quadrupled&lt;/em&gt; it. We sent you to improve our economic situation here in Ohio, and deal with the corruption in Washington D.C.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We’re still waiting….&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The question is, how long can we &lt;em&gt;afford&lt;/em&gt; to?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Justin P. After all, have we ever given them any indication before that there are consequences for their actions? Did we give them any reason to think that we were even &lt;em&gt;mildly&lt;/em&gt; interested in what they did on the job, or what the results of their work were? They are operating now as they always have (maybe more brazen, but really no different). No matter how often our politicians slap us in the face, we find ways of forgiving their arrogant and misguided behavior (as long as they have the right letter behind their name), and assuage our feelings by saying "yeah but at least they're better than (insert evil opposition party member of choice)". The political guide titled "How to kiss babies while stealing their candy"* says on page 53 "Don't worry about upset voters until the month before an election, if you wait long enough they'll forget and move on to something else". Up until now that strategy book has done them quite well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are some other tried and true strategies that have led to a 94% reelection rate amongst our ruling class.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-Never acknowledge someone disagrees with you, just send them a form letter back saying "Thank you for your support on this difficult issue".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-Always demonize the opposing party as "status quo" or "radical" or "regressive", etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-Never, and I mean never, answer a question.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-When people give money to you, it's called "gaining support from diverse citizen groups", when someone gives money to your opposition, it's called "Selling out to special interests".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-You're only for freedom and liberty when it agrees with your ideology.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-When you disagree with someone, it's standing on principle. When someone disagrees with you, they are racist, bigot, homophobic, Nazi, evil, Marxist, fascist, or just plain stupid.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-Integrity is for other people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-Anger is temporary, a federal job is forever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now some of you may be reading this post, and thinking yeah those stinking blankety, blank, blank (enter party of your choice)! Funny how it is that whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, you invariably see the other party as fitting this characterization.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I started this post with the the comment "The ground has shifted...." followed by the question "do you think they know?".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I bet you thought I meant the politicians.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You thought wrong.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have spent time amongst many diverse political action groups, advocating many things, and different candidates, and yes different parties. The one disconcerting problem are those that are still so blindly connected to party that they can not see the non-partisan cliff drawing ever closer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the question you need to ask yourself is; are you awake, or do you just &lt;em&gt;think&lt;/em&gt; you are?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A wise man once said "Before removing the speck from your brothers eye, remove the plank from your own." How many of us have held our candidates to the same standards we expect of the opposition. How many of us have held our candidates to the same standards we live by every day? Have we become so callused to antics of our political gremlins that we have become infected by lowered expectations? The political "ground" has moved under our feet, and a shaking has started. How many of us think the ground only moved under someone else's feet? Funny thing about earthquakes, they don't discriminate. It'll take a few minutes, but this article is an example of what I will be talking about, so come back after you read it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the article they are trying to make it sound like things are going to be great in the housing market. Prices will stabilize. People will be buying again. Government is subsidizing the market. All is good in lollipop land! All is well....no really....trust us....ALL IS WELL.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kind of reminds me of Animal House near then end where one guys is yelling at the crowd trying to calm everyone down.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;*note* It didn't work, and this isn't working either......&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now if you actually read into the article, you will notice the following items.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#1&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;You need to have a stable job&lt;/em&gt;. (duh?)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#2&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;The economy is showing signs of life, but the unemployment rate is already at 10 percent and expected to go higher&lt;/em&gt;. (shouldn't signs of life equate to MORE jobs, not less?...just sayin)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#3&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;Buying a house makes sense only if you can bank on your income stream.&lt;/em&gt; (oh THAT doesn't sound ominous at all!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#4&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;They proclaim that during the 3rd quarter housing prices only declined 9%!!&lt;/em&gt; (Wow doesn't that make you feel like the whole thing is turning around. That's like them proclaiming that the job market is turning around because we only lost 400,000 jobs instead of 500,000 jobs!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#5&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;Mortgage delinquencies up&lt;/em&gt;. (?!?!?)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#6&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;Foreclosures move upstream&lt;/em&gt;. (This means more of your "expensive" houses and commercial properties are going to foreclose)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#7&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;Mortgage rates to rise&lt;/em&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;#8&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;em&gt;I think you get the point&lt;/em&gt;....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the title of this blog post is "Everyone knows it, they just don't want to admit it."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what is "it"?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Very simply, things are going to get worse in 2010, not better.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The press doesn't want to admit it and our politicians don't want to know it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They want all of us to just keep quiet and believe in what they are saying.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, my dear lemmings, are you just going to shut up and keep marching towards the cliff that they proclaim is the rosey future?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Or are you going to open your eyes to the truth? This will truly help those 14000 people who, everyday, will lose their health coverage...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wait getting a note passed to me here....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hold on....What do you mean the coverage won't start until 2014? I thought that those who were questioning the bill's intent were just callous individuals who didn't care that people were dying due to lack of coverage.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then why doesn't the coverage start until 4 years later? The TAXES start now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If we have four years to work on Health Care reform, why don't we slow down this process and get it right, instead of passing nearly 5000 pages (House and Senate bills combined) without going over these bills with a fine tooth comb.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's my thought. We'll walk the plank with you on this health care thing if you can do just one little thing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You must take a 200 question test based on the Health Care bill. If you don't pass with at least 90% (after all you are legislators are you not, shouldn't you know it better than ANYONE?), you must immediately resign your seat in the house/senate. What say you? Any of you have the guts to take on this bet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Doubt it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fact is these legislators in both the house and senate are marionettes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They don't come up with the ideas.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They don't write the bills.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They don't read the bills.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They are the political version of Pavlov's dogs. Someone rings the money bell and they vote.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the questions is...who does run Washinton D.C.?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well one thing is for sure. It's not you, the people.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This just in...we have an interview with Senator Orwell about this historic legislation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Interviewer: So Senator, some say that you have crammed through this bill without any thought to the views of your constituents. What would you say to them?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Senator Orwell: What a pedestrian view of politics...Oh I'm laughing myself hoarse over here. Where is my $1,000 handkerchief to wipe the tears.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Seriously, you need to get over these quaint notions of representative governance. We have moved beyond the constitution, that antiquated document that gives you notions of liberty. What rubbish.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Interviewer: Some are concerned that this may be a gateway to erosion of personal liberties due to the fact the government will now have control over your physical body through taxation and health care. Your response?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Senator Orwell: Don't worry we'll tell you what you can say. What you can do. We've got this all under control. Pay no attention to the pig tails popping out of the back of our pants or the occasional snorts of laughter. Why would you do this?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'll give you one guess....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;THEY KNOW THEY ARE WRONG....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Their egos are just so wrapped up in this thing that they can't bring themselves to admit that they were wrong, and that many of their colleagues are charlatans. In New York City of all places!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some stray thoughts that hit me today as I was processing this...this...this...oh I can't publish what this is in polite company....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#1   This is an incredibly insensitive thing to do to New Yorkers. First the fly by on the Statue of Liberty...now this...Hey what do you guys have against New York anyways? Must be BoSox fans...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#2  OK...I am not a lawyer....Thank God....but I play one in my nightmares, and correct me where I am wrong, but where in the hell does it say anywhere in the constitution that we have to provide murdering cowards, who are war criminals, any rights under OUR constitution. It's not a "world" document. It's OUR document. It applies to OUR people. Not the enemy. The Nazi's went to military tribunals, so did spies, and collaborators....How do these #$%holes rate better treatment then them?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#3 Lawyer thing again....so we are treating this as a criminal case. Was the prisoner Mirandized. Nope. Were they afforded lawyers before being interrogated. Nope. Where witness statements taken, perp identification lineups attempted, or was evidence procedures in accordance with our criminal justice system followed? Nope, Nope, Nope....So how exactly are we going to win a criminal case, when the prisoners were never processed as criminals. They were processed as enemies. How can you dare to provide these scum with the rights and liberties that our men and women are dieing to protect and preserve in Iraq and Afghanistan?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#4 Referring back to #3....yes they are war criminals. The Geneva Convention states that:&lt;br /&gt;       a. Those who fight without sanction of a national government.&lt;br /&gt;       b. Do not wear a uniform to differentiate themselves from the general populace.&lt;br /&gt;       c. and, as a rule attack civilian soft targets to insite terror.&lt;br /&gt;            ARE NOT COVERED BY THE GENEVA CONVENTIONS.&lt;br /&gt;      That is why we were able to indefinitely hold them as "unlawful combatants".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#5 I hate to say I agreed with Sen. Graham, but this seems like the most bone headed policy move since...wow...Jimmy Carter and sweatergate....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#6 If they get off on "technicalities" because this moron doesn't understand the difference between our system of justice and war. Whew....I would not want to be him. Dr. Mudd is finally going to have someone lower than him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;#7 I mean really, how much do you have to hate your fellow citizens to do this? It's never been to wise to poke a New Yorker. They poke back....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This all goes to prove that Accountants and Lawyers should never run anything, not even accounting firms and legal firms. Yet our corporations are run by bean counters, instead of visionaries, and our government is run by pin head lawyers, who expended every one of the last brain cells they had in passing the bar.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;God Save Us!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We're praying for you too New York. We haven't forgotten. Once more we remember the day when we were all New Yorkers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;May the innocent victims of the tragedy continue to lie in peace.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, a message for our leaders.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In case you've forgotten what it is to be American....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Rebuild the towers. Taller. Much taller. That's how we roll. We don't run from challenges. What better way to stimulate our economy? Build the towers and maybe you'll remember, Eric and Co....what it is to be American again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;P.S....instead of a public trial...how about public waterboarding? Was it just a back door deal? Answer: Yes&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Is it going to be reinserted later? Answer: Yes&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How do I know? Answer: Our anti-life representatives and lobbyists would be burning Nancy's plastic face in effigy if it wasn't going to be reinserted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Does any of this matter? Answer: Sadly no.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know you're probably saying "Don't you care for the fate of the unborn?"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1st you need to recalibrate your knee jerk reaction, you could kill someone with that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2nd, the reason it doesn't matter, is that no matter how long or how short the bill is. The bill means nothing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Like marijuana is the gateway drug, this is the gateway bill. This bill could have 2 words in it "health care" and that would literally be enough to open pandora's box. What we need to understand is that laws are no longer what runs our country. Oh no. Not even close. It's regulations and the courts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The United States Regulatory Code is much much much larger than the federal budget, the federal tax code, ney, even the federal legal code. It dwarfs them all. That's where the real governance happens. Do you really think that government gives two hoots for what is in that bill? Congress violates IT'S OWN PARLIAMENTARY RULES all the time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bill?!? We don't need no stinkin' bill....silly gringo!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you get down to it most of this is a side show to the real event. The regulatory bodies and czars are the real power brokers in DC. Representatives and Senators are just a pleasant face on the beast that is our ever growing bureaucracy.  Keep you eyes on the prize. It's about changing the way government does business. Then what the @#$! was it? A pie fight? Performance Art?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Websters Dictionary states that Political correctness is "conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities should be eliminated"&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are told we need to be "tolerant". We need to be understanding. Here's a question. Why are we the only ones who are required to be tolerant? Why must we accept the murderous intolerance of a malignant group of people bent on our destruction?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No, not all &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;Muslims&lt;/span&gt; are murderous thugs....but that doesn't mean we should ignore the fact that a death cult has developed out of that community and we need to do whatever we can to eradicate it. "Oh...but Mr. Wooden, we don't want to offend the Muslim community"....Why would they be offended? Is law and order offensive to the Muslim community?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's a thought....If you are a part of a community where sexual assault has become common place, are you going to keep your mouth shut? Are you going to cry "&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;discrimination&lt;/span&gt;" when police start knocking on doors and &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;patrolling&lt;/span&gt; the streets? Or are you going to help?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How much help are we getting from the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;Muslim&lt;/span&gt; community in identifying these monsters? &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Hmmm&lt;/span&gt;??&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Quite frankly &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;I am offended&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; at the fact &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;CAIR&lt;/span&gt; (Counsel on American-Islamic Relations), un&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;indicted&lt;/span&gt; co-conspirators in funding of terrorist operations, continues to be allowed not only to operate within our borders, BUT ARE ACTUALLY GIVEN CREDIBILITY BY THE COURTS AND OUR MEDIA.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This beast was spouting his hatred to anyone and everyone. Even around "comrades" in the military. He had multiple times been accused of trying to convert his patients to Islam during counseling sessions. He literally had complaints filed &lt;em&gt;AGAINST &lt;/em&gt;him requesting that he keep his political opinions to himself. He equated terrorist actions, against civilians, to a soldier falling on a grenade to save his fellow soldiers. Why was he still in the military? Why was he still allowed to counsel our soldiers who were suffering due to the stresses of combat?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;POLITICAL CORRECTNESS&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Those two words were more germane to the deaths of 14 people (13 adults and one unborn child), than the guns he used. Where are the intellectuals who lecture us on tolerance? They are oddly silent. How many of them were killed by this murderer? None. How many of them have the guts to tell the parents of the 21 year old female soldier, who was heading home for maternity leave in joyous anticipation of the birth of her first child, that they need to remain tolerant of the death cultists?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No. Why? Those who espouse political correctness are cowards. They sit in ivory towers proclaiming the word of the elite, and how we mere mortals must see the rightness of their moronic and self serving ideas. Yes I said self serving. They say all these nice sounding things in order to gain the acceptance of their fellow intellectuals. Do they believe them? I don't know. How much would they believe them if it had been their daughter killed? I believe that if circumstances can change your principles...they weren't principles in the first place.
